Tin-Can is a messaging app with one key difference: Tin-Can never connects to the internet.
When you post a message on Tin-Can, that message must hop from your mobile device to another mobile device to spread. When two devices with Tin-Can are close to each other, they exchange messages that they don’t have in common.
Obviously, Tin-Can is not an efficient global messaging platform! Tin-Can has no central database, and no one can see every Tin-Can message that is out there. If you post a Tin-Can message in Denver, it can’t be read by someone in Dubai until a mobile device with Tin-Can physically carries it there.
However, in some ways Tin-Can is special. Tin-Can is not affected where access to the internet is unavailable or has been disrupted.
